Who can join VADANZ?

There are three ways to join VADANZ:

  • Practising members – for practising, multidisciplinary health professionals working in voluntary assisted dying
  • Retired members – for health professionals with prior involvement in voluntary assisted dying care
  • Associates – for people in non-clinical roles whose valuable work is integral to voluntary assisted dying operations.

Practising membership
$250 annually

For practising health professionals working in voluntary assisted dying.

As a practising member, you must:

  • Hold registration with AHPRA, the relevant New Zealand professional board or council, or hold some other qualification accepted by the VADANZ Board; and
  • Have experience delivering voluntary assisted dying services in Australia or New Zealand.

Practising members can attend, speak and vote at any meeting of VADANZ members, and have full access to member activities, resources, forums and events.

Retired membership
$100 annually

For health professionals with prior involvement in voluntary assisted dying care.

As a retired member, you must:

  • Be an experienced VAD practitioner who is no longer involved in VAD care; or
  • Be a VADANZ member for 2+ years and retiring from clinical or professional practice; or
  • Hold other VAD experience felt relevant by the VADANZ Board.

Retired members may be invited to attend and speak at a meeting of VADANZ members, but are not entitled to vote. They have full access to member activities, resources, forums and events.

Associates

As an associate, you must:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to deliver or support VAD services in Australia and/or New Zealand; and
